Our success depends on the ability to provide the service that our clients want, when they want it and to budget. We recognise that to do this we need high calibre staff and the best equipment.
Staff
We are one of the few companies in this field that employ full time surveyors and engineers. We have, over the years, recognised that most of our clients want to be able to rely on the professionals they employ. With Samsett you can be assured that every person we employ is a highly trained, committed professional employed directly. We do not use sub-contractors.
We have a number of staff that have been with us for 20 years and have a policy of keeping the best. We achieve that by providing an excellent employment environment, our staff do not grumble about their pay or conditions - they get on with the job and look after our clients.
All of our staff members are PTS trained and have gained experience in the UK construction industry. They are aware of the tight timetables operated on site and the need to make sure the job is done only once, saving time and meeting targets and deadlines.
When we provide a survey team it will arrive on site in a clean four-wheel drive vehicle with a surveyor and a junior, together with all the equipment necessary for the work to be done. All you have to do is to provide the setting out information - either in hard copy or in an electronic format.
We believe in providing a quality service and because of this we subscribe to the maxim - "investing in people". Each year we accept at least two day release students and, where possible, assist graduates or technicians to gain work experience during the summer vacation.
We are committed to the health and safety of our workforce and are proactive in ensuring that the health and safety plan on each project is implemented and adhered to.
Equipment
Because of our total commitment to quality we ensure that the equipment we use is suitable for the work we carry out.
- We are the only company who runs MX, formerly known as MOSS, on laptops. This gives us the power to interrogate the design model on site, as well as in the office
- We use Trimble Classic 4000 to 5800 units and own more units than any other private company
- We use Leica Total Stations such as the TCRA and TC ranges for conventional survey work
- We also use Leica NA and DNA digital levels
